Step Lightly Into Spring With Yoga

Dear Friends,

Once again we have come full circle, and as nature so perfectly reminds us with beauty, elegance and vibrancy, it is time to renew, refresh and come alive.

One of my new students recently wrote expressing his own inner Spring, sharing his inspirations, hopes, and dreams. It is very exciting for me to work with folks like him, people who are stepping beyond what is often comfortably stale and willing to risk and sacrifice for what they want. I asked him to consider for a moment that his life is a reflection of him on his yoga mat. I asked him to imagine what one he could connect with in an easeful body and in a quiet alert state, which is the two wings that define progress on a yoga mat. In our Saturday morning beginners series, it is where we are working, no fancy poses or muscle bound movements, just two very simple, attainable goals, ease in the body and a quiet, alert state.

I consider our outward growth, expansion and happiness and expression of progress on our yoga mats.
